Where does gravity come from?

Gravitational force is one of the four forces of nature. It has the privilege to be discovered very first among the four forces of nature. This same force is responsible for falling of objects back on the ground when we throw them into the sky. This is due to gravity that we are somewhat glued to the earth's surface and not just fly in the sky. Moreover, due to the presence of this gravity thing, we need to waste a huge amount of fuel to send rocket or satellites into space.

So gravity is directly related to our life and it plays a very important role in our life. Though this is the most common force among four still this is one which is least understood. So let's try to understand this gravity thing.
First of all, you need to know what gravity is according to Newton and Einstein, as they both have defined this in two different ways. But remember gravity is the same, just difference is of their different opinion about it.

Let's first take Newton's approach as he was the man who first discovered Gravitational force and even gave mathematical formula to calculate it. According to him, any object which has mass has inbuilt gravity. It doesn't matter if the mass is as small as that of an apple or as big as that of the sun. Both have gravitational force but it is just more powerful for the massive object and lesser for small objects. According to Newton, any two or more than two objects interact with the gravitational force which is directly proportional to the product of their mass and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. So in this universe, every single object, planet or star is interacting with every other object, planets and star, but just magnitude of interaction differ object to object. For very far objects force will be negligible and for nearer one, it will be strong. But Newton's theory doesn't tell us how this invisible gravity keeps two objects binded i.e. how this gravity thing works.

So for this let's now look at Einstein's approach of gravity. According to him, empty space is not empty but space itself is an object. Einstein proposed that space is like a fabric spread everywhere in the universe. Moreover, with space-time is also binded which he named fabric of Space-Time. Now every single event in the universe occurs in this fabric of spacetime. But this fabric has one special property i.e. when any object is on it, the fabric of spacetime bends and get curved.

Now when another object comes near it, then that object falls in its curve and either start rotating or completely falls onto that object. This is how Einstein explained the rotation of planets around the sun. The sun curves fabric of spacetime near it and other planets of solar system follow this curved spacetime resulting in rotation around the sun.
But nowadays there are scientists who have proposed that gravitational force is due to an elementary particle named Graviton. This graviton is responsible for gravitational force between any two objects or planets and star. According to them, when two objects interact with gravitational force, they actually at that time keep sharing these hypothetical gravitons between them. Thus this keeps them binded to each other. Let's take the analogy of two dogs but they have a single piece of bone. Now they keep taking this bone from one another and thus this bone keeps them binded together. Same is the case with gravitons. But these are just hypothetical particles till now as they haven't discovered yet.

So the conclusion is this that gravity is not known completely, even after many hundred years of it's first discovery. Scientists are continuously working on it to find the real cause of gravity. So gravity is still a mystery that we have understood least.

There is very low gravity at the moon, so you can jump very high there and moreover your weight will be 1/6th of your weight on earth.
